Couple more pics from Ft. Sumter, SC:

I think this is pretty neat...This is one of the port holes (bricked up when the US used the location as a station during the Spanish-American war) that canons would be fired from in order to defend Charleston from attackers...What I think is neat about it is the piece of shrapnel sticking out of the wall in the lower left of this pic...Evidently, this was a direct hit to the fort at one point and was never fully repaired...There are still several canon shots, etc, that can be found stuck in the walls at various points throughout the fort:
