Pretty cool pic from the 1930's of a Zeppelin being built...This one in particular is the USS Macon...803 feet long with a diameter of 130 feet...

Those scaffolds look insanely tall...Almost like a Stairway to Heaven?? Ok, maybe not...sorry...

Wrecked cars have always been interesting to me for whatever reason...Especially really, really expensive cars that people have wrecked...I guess that may be semi obvious if you've been checking out my blog for any length of time, because I've posted that sort of thing on here in the past...I dunno though; it sorta falls in with my line of work anyway, so maybe that's it??

Anyhow...

This used to be in a Ferrari Enzo...Not for sure what the body looks like, but I'm guessing it's probably not pretty!

Crazy Ferrari concept from 1967

Looks like Lotus got a bit of inspiration from this car in their later designs:

1958 Ferrari 250 TR...wow!

This happened a few months ago...been meaning to post this up prior to now, but anyway...

So, the car in the pics below is a 1958 Ferrari 250 TR that is reportedly worth around $8 million dollars (yes, $8,000,000! dang!) Also, there were only 34 250 TR's built from 1956 thru 1961; needless to say, this is a pretty rare car...

The wreck happened during the Monterey car week at Laguna Seca, right before the "Corkscrew." Apparently, the car totally lost it's brakes and what happened in the pics was the end result...Gotta give the owner/driver credit for actually getting out and using the car for what it was originally intended for...well, everything other than the off roading part!

1911 Flanders "4"

One more from the Barber Motorsports Museum...Soooo many cool things to look at there!

Anyway, this is a 1911 Flanders "4"

This bike is powered by a single cylinder 4 stroke air cooled engine that displaces 29.49 cubic inches (or 483 cc)...The Splitdorf magneto fired motor also cranks out 4 hp and is backed up by a single speed belt driven trans...The "headlight" runs off of acetylene gas instead of electricity...pretty neat...

Interesting to note that the original paperwork that came along with this bike stated that the top speed of the Flanders 4 was "5 to 50 mph"

In 1911, this bike originally sold in Pontiac Michigan for $175.00...Not sure how that adjusts for inflation, but I'm guessing it was pretty expensive for its time??

Anyway, have a look:
